First full day of summer today and the weather forecast looks like sunshine and clear skies here on the Delmarva. Nothing but great flying weather ahead. Hopefully the rain and fog that has plagued us over the last few months will become a distant memory. Don’t forget that in addition to our fleet of Skyhawk’s, we also have our newly refurbished Arrow available for rental or for advanced flight training. Around the airport, work is progressing on runways 2 and 20 and word is our second runway will be opening early in July.
I want to congratulate TJ Patel on passing his private pilot check ride yesterday. TJ did a great job. When you think that only 1/10th of one percent of the population are pilots, you realize you have joined a very prestigious fraternity. I could not be prouder of all our graduates.
Talking about graduates, Ryan Borth, who started flying here at the age of 14, and earned his private pilot certificate here when he was 16, has joined our staff this summer as a commercial pilot. Ryan is will be starting his 3rd year at Embry Riddle University at Daytona Beach, Florida in September.
Make sure you mark your calendar for our open house BBQ on July 6th. Cessna will stop by with a brand new Cessna Skyhawk.
On the service side, if you are an aircraft owner and need maintenance work, we have a great shop with a great reputation. If your aircraft annual inspection is coming up, come in and talk to our service director, Socrates Pikounis about completing it right here. Your annual inspection can be completed while you soak up the sun on the world famous beaches of Ocean City. Single engine, fixed gear annuals start at just $1200.00.
