Ocean Aviation is a FAA Part 141 Flight Academy
Ocean Aviation Flight Academy is an FAA Approved Part 141 Flight School. The FAA Part 141 certification is the highest certification the FAA bestows on a Flight School. Think of it as an accreditation similar to what a university might receive. Less than ten percent of all flight schools are FAA Certified Part 141 schools. The FAA conducts extensive inspections prior to awarding the FAA Part 141 certification. Additionally, the FAA assigns three inspectors to each FAA Part 141 school. Routine inspections of student records, aircraft and avionics are ongoing as long as the school remains an FAA Approved school. Please see our section on FAA approved Part 141 vs 61 for more information on why an FAA Part 141 Flight school might be important to you.
Sevis Approval
Ocean Aviation Flight Academy is SEVIS Approved to accept foreign students. The United States government requires that any school seeking SEVIS approval to accept foreign students be an FAA approved Part 141 school.
International students only need to complete our Student application to begin the process of applying for admission. Once admission is approved, they will be required to submit a copy of their birth certificate and passport. They should also be prepared to submit a letter from their financial institution stating that they have funding available to cover the cost of training plus living expenses. They will also be required to submit the application fee.
Ocean Aviation Flight Academy will then send your I-20 via express mail to your home address. Once you receive your I-20, your next step would be to make an appointment with the United States Embassy in your home country. They will issue your M-1 or M-2 visa which will allow you to travel to the United States to begin your flight training.
